The team at Nomura hosted The Association of Catering Excellence’s (ACE) popular Quiz Night on Tuesday the 5th of April 2022 with BaxterStorey emerging victorious in a closely fought battle. This knowledgeable team of six won the Sheila Mitchell Quiz Trophy and a bottle of wine each.
Over 150 people, spanning 22 teams, from the catering and hospitality industry took part with a broad mix of food service companies, consultants, suppliers and recruitment companies providing an opportunity to do what ACE does best – mix and mingle with industry peers.
Quiz rounds included diverse subjects such as Easter, wine and The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. The 2019 ACE Quiz winners, Berkeley Scott took the runner-up spot and the headline sponsor, Appetite4Work came third.
ACE Vice Chair, Sarah Prentice said: “The annual ACE Quiz Night is the perfect opportunity to bring people together from across the hospitality industry. So much pre-planning and organising goes into this event from our ACE council, but we all enjoy getting together, meeting up with old friends and making new connections. The competitive element always adds an extra level of fun.”
A raffle was held to raise money for Hospitality Action which is the chosen charity for the current chair of ACE, Sue Thompson. Over the last three years, ACE has raised over £12,000 for this important industry charity.
The next ACE event will be the Summer Party on Tuesday 28th June which will take place at Kings Place, London and include the ACE Robyns Awards Presentation sponsored by Troika. The ACE Robyns Award is now a firm fixture in the calendar. It was created in 2016 by the ACE committee in memory of Robyn Jones OBE, founder of CH&Co, who sadly died in September 2015. Robyn was known for her tireless work in the mentoring, training and development of young talent. This award puts the spotlight on the next
generation of the industry something Robyn was always at the forefront of.
