The ACE Robyns Award was created by the ACE committee in memory of Robyn Jones OBE, founder of CH&Co, who sadly died in September 2015. Robyn was known for her tireless work in the mentoring, training and development of young talent.
The award recognises up-and-coming talent in all aspects of contract catering, from chefs to marketers and from butlers to business development staff. The awards are open to talented team members aged 35 and under who truly have what it takes to make a real difference in the industry, whether that’s cooking, serving or driving a business forward.
We had a great 2019 Summer Event and Robyns Awards at King’s Place on the 10th of July with a Venetian themed supper courtesy of Green & Fortune.
Located in the heart of King’s Cross with views over the beautiful Regent’s Canal, it was a lovely setting in which to hold our summer party and to present the awards to our worthy winners.
Bee Armstrong from The Genuine Dining Company was declared winner in front of over 200 hospitality guests, with Liam Hatcher from CH&Co. in second place. Because of the high standard of entries this year, there were two Highly Commended awards which went to Emma Abruzzese from Vacherin and Charlotte Rouse from BaxterStorey.
Bee will receive an overnight stay, including dinner at the brand-new Standard London, the Robyns trophy and lifetime membership of ACE and Liam will receive afternoon tea for two with bottomless champagne at Adam Handling’s restaurant. Both will also be invited to sit on the Board for the next year. Charlotte and Emma will be invited to join ACE members at their prestigious Charity Dinner in 2020.
